McMinnville resident and Oklahoma City, Okla. native Mary Kathryn Long, 65, was born March 18, 1959 and died Jan. 14, 2026 at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
A retired social worker with Tennessee Early Intervention System and of the Protestant faith, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary Ingram Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Arika Long.
She was married Oct. 20, 1984 to William Long of McMinnville who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Austin (Jessica) Long of Lexington, N.C. and Abby Long of McMinnville and grandchildren, Hunter, Aaden, K.J. and Nate Long.
Per Mrs. Long’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Patrick Wooisey officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until time of service at High’s.
