Nancy Elaine Rains, 72

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Nancy Elaine Rains, 72, was born October 9, 1952 and died September 1, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness.

A beautician and member of Pleasant Cove Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Bonnie Miller Hillis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law, David Rains.

Elaine was married to Ross Rains of McMinnville on February 22, 1974. In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by children, Alissa (Joey) Kennamer of McMinnville and Amy (Michael) Moody of Readyville; grandchildren, Evan and Owen Moody; brother, Danny (Dottie) Hillis of McMinnville; niece and nephew, Heather (George) Newman and Dano (Ashley) Hillis; great-nephew and two great-nieces and special friends and caregivers, Lisa Hillis, Donna Morris and Kristi Cantrell.

Elaine loved her clients like they were her family. She also loved Wheel of Fortune, the Atlanta Braves and her church family.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Ray Weddington officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until time of service at High’s.
