After a successful first five weeks of Main Street Live, last week brought Main Street McMinnville organizers of the free summer concert series their first bump in the road.

Predicted rain prompted MSM officials to cancel the planned concert from Entice hours before the popular band was set to take the stage at Security Federal Savings Bank's West Lawn. The decision proved to be a good one as rain fell as predicted when showtime arrived.

"We know folks were disappointed in the weather last week and the cancellation of one of our favorites, Entice," Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Hannah Cowan Jones said. "I'm working right now to figure out how to bring them back to the Main Street Live stage, whether that is an additional show or priority consideration for next year's artist lineup."

This Friday, July 24, will see the penultimate week of Main Street Live's originally scheduled lineup with Rae Radick and the "Iconic Women of Music." The Nashville-based singer/songwriter wowed the crowd last year in her Main Street Live debut with an array of costume changes as she paid musical tribute to many of the biggest female names in the industry including Dolly Parton, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner, Shania Twain, Janis Joplin and many more.

Radick brings with her an impressive resume, having opened for Miranda Lambert, Brett Young, Maddie & Tae and Bret Michaels, among others. She has performed at vaunted venues including the Plaza Hotel, Shea Stadium, Brooklyn Bowl and Broadway residencies.

"This week we are so excited to have Rae Radick and the 'Iconic Women of Music,' Jones said. "Whether you like country, pop or rock, Rae brings a great energy that everyone will enjoy. We hope everybody will bring their lawn chairs to Security Federal for a great show. I encourage everyone to stop by the Main Street McMinnville tent to sign up for door prizes. They have been a big hit this year. Caring Hearts United will be there as the nonprofit selling water, and Kona Ice, Travelin' Tom's Coffee, Begonia's Pizza, Mad's Hot Butts BBQ and Chick Fil A are the vendors for the evening. It will be a great night."

For those who cannot attend, the concert will be broadcast live on Star 107.7 FM.

Barring an addition of an extra week to reschedule the Entice show, the 22nd season of Main Street Live will wrap up with Knights of Queen, a tribute to the music of Queen, on July 31. While the Park Theater is unable to serve as a backup location this week, next Friday's show will go on rain or shine with the historic venue available as an option.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Accuweather predicted a 65% chance of precipitation this Friday evening with the possibility of a thunderstorm. If weather concerns force a cancellation, that information will be provided to the Main Street Journal by midday Friday.

Main Street Live is sponsored by Main Street Media, Security Federal Savings Bank, Bridgestone, McMinnville Electric System, Law Offices of Galligan & Newman, Warren County, City of McMinnville, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District, Hale & Hines Nursery, Citizens Tri-County Bank and Hoover & Son Insurance. Vendors will open at 6 p.m. preceding the 7 p.m. concert. 

To keep attendees safe, a portion of the left lane of W. Main St. will be closed to vehicle traffic Friday night.
