They will, they will rock you

Rain or shine, "The Show Must Go On" Friday as Main Street Live presented by Main Street McMinnville wraps up its 22nd season with The Knights of Queen.

Based in Columbia, Tenn., The Knights of Queen pay tribute to the legendary band Queen and its iconic frontman Freddie Mercury. Gabriel Harrod leads the band with a stunning similarity to one of the greatest voices in rock history and will bring Mercury's moves, swagger and unforgettable costumes to the Main Street Live stage at Security Federal's West Lawn Friday at 7 p.m. In case of rain, the Park Theater will serve as a backup venue for the free concert.

Friday night will be particularly meaningful for Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Hannah Cowan Jones as it brings her first season overseeing the operation of the popular free summer concert series to a close.

"Looking back on this entire summer, I am overflowing with gratitude," Jones said. "Steering my first season of Main Street Live has been an absolute dream and a labor of love. We pulled off an incredibly dynamic lineup, from our massive kickoff with the TC Bryant Band to partnering with Freedom Fest with the Joe Harvey Band, hosting Battle of the Bands and welcoming other talented bands to the stage. We navigated summer heat, watched the radar closely, and week after week, our neighbors, families and visitors packed into downtown McMinnville. Seeing the West Lawn at Security Federal Savings Bank buzzing with life and live music made every bit of the hard work well worth it.

"Beyond the fun, this season proved just how powerful Main Street McMinnville is as a driver of local tourism and economic development. Main Street Live brings hundreds of visitors straight into our historic district, supporting small business owners and showcasing what makes our community so special."

Main Street Live is sponsored by Main Street Media, Security Federal Savings Bank, Bridgestone, McMinnville Electric System, Law Offices of Galligan & Newman, Warren County, City of McMinnville, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District, Hale & Hines Nursery, Citizens Tri-County Bank and Hoover & Son Insurance. Without those sponsors and the countless hours of work from volunteers, Main Street Live would not be possible, Jones said.

"What people don't always see from the audience is that a free concert series of this scale takes a mountain of teamwork. Main Street Live stays 100% free to our community entirely because of the generosity and vision of our sponsors, our dedicated board and our incredible crew of volunteers. From setting up in the summer heat to managing logistics and cleaning up long after the music stops, their energy and dedication keep this series running smoothly. I am profoundly grateful to every sponsor who believed in our vision and every volunteer who gave their time to make this season such an unforgettable success."

Before the first note of a Queen song echoes across Security Federal's lawn, Main Street McMinnville organizers are already looking ahead for the 23rd season of Main Street Live in 2027.

"We are going out with a bang for our season finale with Knights of Queen," Jones said. "Their frontman's vocals and dynamic stage presence would make Freddie Mercury so proud, and it is going to be an electric way to close out the summer. We are already looking ahead to next year, too. I've been in contact with several fantastic acts. Entice will receive priority consideration in next summer's lineup since rain unfortunately forced us to miss their show this year. There are so many good things ahead for Main Street McMinnville."

Vendors will open at 6 p.m. preceding the 7 p.m. concert. To keep attendees safe, a portion of the left lane of W. Main St. will be closed to vehicle traffic Friday night. If weather concerns force a move to the Park Theater, that information will be provided to the Main Street Journal by midday Friday.
