Classic cars filled the streets of Sparta on Saturday as the annual Sonic Sock Hop brought the community together for an evening of music, food, cruising, and dancing.

Hosted around Sonic Drive-In, the event featured a car show packed with vintage rides, live music from local band Four on the Floor, and a variety of food vendors serving visitors throughout the evening. Families flooded the square to check out the vehicles, visit with owners, and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere as music echoed through the parking lot. Throughout the night, plenty of dancing also broke out around the stage as attendees gathered to enjoy the live entertainment.

While the cars had been on the square all afternoon, the event officially kicked off with law enforcement leading a cruise through Sparta before making a loop around Sonic, with a long line of classic cars following behind. The parade of restored vehicles drew plenty of attention from people gathered along the route and around the restaurant.

The Sonic Sock Hop has become a popular community gathering each year, combining small-town nostalgia with local entertainment and giving residents a chance to enjoy the evening that marks the start of long nights, late sunsets, and is filled with the promises of summer coming soon.
