With the regular season winding down in several divisions, Friday night brought another packed slate of games at the White County Recreational Complex as teams continued jockeying for postseason positioning in the White County Youth Baseball and Softball League.
In Minor Boys Live Arm action, Ben Dildine Tru-North kept its unbeaten season intact with an 8-4 victory over Home Church. Ben Dildine improved to 8-0 overall and stretched its winning streak to eight games with two regular season contests remaining. Nate Card Construction also picked up an important win Friday, defeating Koala Insulation 11-1. Nate Card moved to 2-3 on the season while Koala dropped its fourth straight game.

Major Boys Live Arm saw the division’s top two teams continue to separate themselves from the pack. Sonic extended its winning streak to five games with a 10-4 victory over Roberson Fencing, improving to 5-1 overall. Whitson Lawncare stayed unbeaten with a 14-3 win over Spar Gas, moving to 3-0 while handing Spar Gas its second loss of the season.


In Minor Girls softball, Robbie Porter picked up a shutout win over Edd Rogers Valley Ford by a 5-0 final. The victory snapped a four-game skid for Robbie Porter, while Valley Ford fell to 1-4 on the year. Yert Nutrition edged Reco 5-4 in one of the night’s closest games. Yert improved to 4-2 and has now won two straight, while Reco slipped to 4-1 despite remaining near the top of the standings.


Major Girls softball featured another strong outing from Calfkiller Brewing Co., which rolled to a 15-1 victory over MMG Truck & Trailer Repair. Calfkiller improved to 7-1 overall and remains atop the standings with two weeks left in the regular season. Premier Collision also stayed in the postseason hunt with a narrow 10-9 win over Rocky Pop Co. Premier has now won two straight games and improved to 3-2, while Rocky Pop dropped to 0-3.

Competitive T-Ball teams were off and did not play Friday night as the division enters its final week before postseason activities begin. Coach Pitch teams, meanwhile, have completed regular season action and are expected to begin tournament play soon.
