As traffic continues to increase around several growing areas of Sparta, city officials are moving quickly to make two intersections safer before students return to school later this month.
During Thursday's meeting, the Sparta Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved installing a three-way stop at the intersection of Sewell Drive and Turntable Road and began planning for a new pedestrian crossing on North Main Street near several downtown restaurants.
