  • Monday, May 11 – Blood Drive at White County Sheriff’s Office, 111 Depot Street, Sparta. This will be a Blood Assurance event.  
  • Monday, May 11, 6pm – Firearm Safety for Families. Join Coordinated School Health and SROs from the White County Sheriff’s Dept to learn about firearm safety and how to protect White County families. This is a FREE event and dinner will be provided. Location: White County Middle School on Turntable Road. 
  • Tuesday, May 12, 4-5pm – Junior Outdoor Explorers at the White County Public Library. Open to all kids, no preregistration required.  
  • Tuesday, May 12, 5:30 – 6:30pm – Women in the Wilderness at the White County Public Library.  
  • Friday, May 15, 12pm – Ribbon Cutting for Georgia Dawn’s. 25 North Main Street in Sparta. 
  • Friday, May 15, 4pm – 7pm – Sparta Green Market at Metcalf Park on Liberty Square. Bluegrass to follow. Topic: Navigation. Participants will work on compass skills, map reading, and navigation courses. 
  • Friday, May 15, 7pm – White County High School Graduation at Dee Harris Field.  
  • Saturday, May 16, 8am – 12pm - Rabies clinic at Riverside Veterinary Hospital, 574 N Spring Street, Sparta. 1 year vaccine just $12. 
  • Saturday, May 16, 10am - Marty McFly's Blue Light Ride starting at Pearson Park in Sparta. 
  • Saturday, May 16, 5pm – 9pm  Sock Hop and Cruise in on the Square in downtown Sparta.

  • Saturday, May 23 – Special Warriors Poker Run hosted by 1938 Social, 109 W Bockman Way, Sparta.  
  • Monday, May 25, 10am - White County Memorial Day Ceremony at the Americcan Legion Building behind the White County Courthouse. Special guest speakers, music, and a bell ringing ceremony will take place.
  • Thursday, June 11 – Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 
  • Friday, June 19, 4pm – 7pm – Sparta Green Market at Metcalf Park on Liberty Square. Bluegrass to follow. 
  • Saturday, June 27, 7:30pm (gates open at 5:30)  Sparta Rodeo. Come early and enjoy Mechanical bull rides, local food trucks, vendors, shopping, and live music.  White County Fair Grounds – Main Arena, 565 Hale Street, Sparta. 
  • Friday, July 3 - 11am - 1pm - City of Sparta's celebration of America's 250th birthday.
  • Friday, July 3, 4pm - dark - Freedom Celebration at the White County Recreational Complex. Vendors and Live Music all day. Fireworks after dark.
