South Group volunteer firefighters gave up their Saturday to train on critical equipment, continuing their commitment to keeping the community safe.
On a Saturday when most people were off the clock, a group of White County firefighters were clocking in — not for a call, but to make sure they’re ready for the next one.
Members of the Central View Volunteer Fire Department (Walling/Quebeck/Mt. Gilead), Doyle Volunteer Fire Department, and Hickory Valley Fire Department — known collectively as the South Group — spent the day at the Sparta National Guard Armory working through hands-on pump training using active fire apparatus, sharpening the skills they rely on when lives and homes are on the line.
