Friday night closed out the first week of games across White County Youth Baseball and Softball, and you can already start to see some teams settling in. A few are finding their groove early, while others are still working through the first-game jitters as the season gets underway.
COMPETITIVE T-BALL
Competitive T-Ball continues to deliver some of the most energetic games of the week, and Friday was no different. The Way Church picked up a 10-3 win over Sparta Heating & Air Conditioning, jumping out early and never letting up. Passons Underground and Warrior Wash battled it out in one of the tighter games of the night, with Passons pulling away late for a 10-7 win. Foothills added another strong showing with an 11-5 victory over Sparta Fireworks, continuing to build momentum as one of the youngest groups in the league keeps things moving at a fast pace.

COACH PITCH BOYS
In Coach Pitch Boys, Gulla Automotive bounced back with a solid 9-5 win over Bradys Printing, using steady offense to stay in control throughout. Del Toro Arms continued to show they can be a problem early in the season, putting together one of the more complete performances of the night with an 8-0 shutout over Clean Cut Lawn Care. Through the first week, consistency at the plate and limiting big innings has already proven to be the difference in this division.

MINOR GIRLS
In Minor Girls play, Uzin Fusion Metalworks leaned on a strong defensive effort to blank Robbie Porter 5-0, one of the few shutouts across all divisions on Friday. Franks kept their offense rolling in a 12-3 win over Powerhouse Power Wash, putting together another big night at the plate as they continue to look sharp coming out of the gate. Early on, this division is showing a clear split between teams that are finding runs consistently and those still working to get bats going.

MINOR BOYS
Minor Boys closed out the night with a pair of high-scoring matchups. Ben Dildine Tru North stayed hot with a 15-5 win over Koala Insulation, continuing to produce runs in bunches. Meeks Construction matched that energy in a 14-8 win over Home Church, using a big offensive push to stay unbeaten through the first week. With both teams off to strong starts, that division is already shaping up to have a competitive race at the top.

After one full week of play, the standings reflect those fast starts. In Coach Pitch Boys, Thompson Construction and National Guard sit at the top unbeaten, while Del Toro Arms keeps pace just behind them. Competitive T-Ball has a three-way tie at the top with Doyle Church of the Nazarene, Foothills, and The Way Church all off to perfect starts. In Minor Girls, Franks, Reco, and Yert Nutrition have each opened the season 2-0, while in Minor Boys, Meeks Construction and Ben Dildine Tru-North are locked in at the top after matching undefeated weeks.
It’s also worth noting that Major Boys and Major Girls divisions will not begin play until May 4, allowing those athletes who are still competing in middle school seasons the opportunity to finish before jumping into rec league action.
