This week: 

  • Friday, Jan. 16, 6pm – Bluegrass on the Square. Enjoy an evening of Bluegrass with a performance by Jackson & Mickey Harris at the American Legion Building. Use the elevator at the back of the building to access the auditorium on the second floor. This is a free event.  
  • Saturday, Jan. 17 – Sparta Youth Basketball season continues with games played at Findlay, Woodland Park, and Northfield Elementary schools.   
  • Saturday, Jan. 17, 6am – 9am – North End Volunteer Fire Department Ham Breakfast. 115 S Bunker Hill Road. Adults $10, Children $5. Call-in orders are welcome via 931-761-3657 
  • Saturday, Jan. 17, 7am – The Way of Doyle Men’s Breakfast at The Way Church of Doyle, 5085 McMinnville Hwy. Food, Fellowship, and Guest Speaker Jason Murphy. 
  • Monday, Jan. 19 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All schools, public offices, and banks will be closed. 
  • Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6pm – White County Commissioners Meeting. Third-floor courtroom at the Court House. 
  • Friday, Jan. 23, 6pm – Sparta White County Chamber of Commerce Year End Awards Banquet at Duck Pond Manor. Business attire and masquerade masks are encouraged. Tickets are available now at the Chamber of Commerce. 

Coming up: 

  • Saturday, Jan. 31, 1pm – 4pm – Meet and Greet with Daniel Trivette, candidate for White County Sheriff. Oldham’s Theater 
  • Saturday, Jan. 31 – WCHS Winter Formal. This event is for White County High School students only.  
  • Saturday, Feb. 7, 12pm – 2pm – Meet and Greet with Steve Page, candidate for White County Sheriff, at Vinson Farms, 2927 Will Thompson Road, Sparta 
  • Saturday, Feb. 7, 4pm - WCHS Baseball/Softball Chili Dinner and Giveaway @ White County High School cafeteria. This event includes supper and a drawing for $2500 along with other prizes. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through any WCHS baseball or softball player.  
  • Saturday, Feb. 14, 6pm – Valentine's Gala at Duck Pond Manor, hosted by the Rotary Club of Sparta. Tickets are available now and can be purchased from any Rotarian. 
  • Saturday, March 21 – Princess Party hosted by White County High School Cheerleaders. Tickets are available now and sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased from any WCHS Cheerleader.
