It was another week of action for the Sparta Youth Basketball League. From rookies to seniors, there were plenty of games, plenty of action, a few upsets, and some changes to league standings.
In the Rookie League, Christpoint Church didn't get a win, but Jace Phillips stole the ball several times and recorded his first full court breakaway this weekend. Lilly Ballew spent the game hustling to help Phillips and was efficient in moving the ball for Christpoint.
It was Arlo Hinds's hustle on the court that helped Victory Lawn Care stay undefeated as they ended in a 7-7 tie with Cannon Farms. Greyson Leon (4 points) and Aiman Templeton (3 points) took care of the scoring for Cannon Farms.
Rocky Pop Co took the win over Aphena Pharma Solution while Spartan Services evened their record at 2 wins and 2 losses with a close 2-point win over Griffith.

In Training League Girls action, it was a battle of the undefeated when Delaney Logging and Sonic clashed on the Northfield court. It was Delany Logging who came away with the 7-5 win to remain perfect on the season thanks in large part to Ella Delaney who recorded multiple steals to stifle Sonic's offense. American Roofing Company came away with their first win, a 14-6 victory over Page, thanks to a full team effort. Whitetail Property evened their record at 2-2 when they defeated Sullivan's Disposal, whose record is now also 2-2, by a score of 11-4.

In the Training League Boys division, it was This N' That Auction House squeaking out a 10-9 win over Sonic, who is still looking for their first win of the year. Edd Rogers took an 11-8 win over Johnson while Rawly Mae Farms took a big hit in the form of a 25-5 loss to Weldon. Hitchcock stayed undefeated as they posted a 25-7 win over Collins. Spartan Services fell to Smith, but it wasn't for lack of effort. Noah Sparkman pulled multiple rebounds off the boards, and it was Ty Wilson who scored his first points of the season.
In Junior Girls action, Poss stayed undefeated with a 28-6 win over K & J Electric. True North took a huge 52-6 victory over Napa Auto Parts as Roxanna Daniel put 21 points on the board herself. Hadley Sims added another 16 for True North, and Riley Johnson added five more while being a defensive powerhouse.
First Class Auto fell to Smith by a score of 28-20, but it was Kylie McCurry who netted 12 points in a valiant effort to stay undefeated. American Roofing Company stole a win from Southern Roots Salon, walking away on the better side of a 17-16 scoreboard despite Tessa Grissom's knock-out defensive efforts.
On the Junior Boys side of the courts, there was plenty of action. Bechtal played a double header taking wins in both games with a 31-28 victory over Flatt and then a 32-25 win over Walker. Hitchcock dominated Johnson and came away with the 48-14 victory while Johnson remained undefeated as they doubled up Lumpkin's score to come away with a 32-16 win. It was Smith over Walker, 44-27, in the first of two games, and then they edged out Collins 53-51 in their second game of the day. Collins also played twice, taking a 43-26 decision over Murphy in their first game. American Roofing Company came away with a one-point win over Young to round out the Junior Boys action for the week.
Both games in the Senior Girls division were close ones with just two points separating the winning teams from the losing teams. It was American Roofing Company over Roberts by a score of 32-30, and Absolute Care over Rodgers Farm by a score of 30-28.
Olivia Revange scored 18 points for Absolute Care thanks to her fast breaks that ended in layups while Teagan Rittenberry added 10 more, most of which came from the free throw line. Reagan Barnes recorded her best defensive game of the season to keep the Absolute Care on the winning side of the scoreboard.

Only one team remains undefeated in the Senior Boys division. Weldon played twice on Saturday taking wins over both American Roofing Company and Hart to move to 5-0 on the season. In other action Smith defeated Flatt and Collins defeated Sliger in close games while Gooch ran away with their game posting a 58-19 win over Angell.
