Tennessee lawmakers are taking steps to crack down on a product many say is fueling dangerous behavior among young people.
Members of the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee this week advanced a bill aimed at stopping the sale of nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas” or “whippets,” in vape shops and similar stores. The proposal is part of a broader push by some lawmakers to curb substances that are easily accessible to teens and young adults.
