White County High School picked up three individual honors Monday as the District 7AAA Volleyball Tournament got underway.

Freshman Isabella Rosell-Diaz was named to the District 7AAA All-Freshman Team, while seniors Miah Jo Swindell and Ashlyn Selby were selected to the District 7AAA All District Team.

For Swindell and Selby, the honors come near the end of four seasons with the Warriorettes. Both have been part of the White County varsity program since their freshman seasons. Swindell, a setter and defensive specialist, has contributed in several areas this fall. MaxPreps credited her with 130 digs through Sept. 29, and she recorded 22 assists and 13 digs in an August match against Livingston Academy. She also had 16 assists and a team-high four aces in a four-set win over Smyrna earlier this season.

Selby, an outside hitter, has been one of White County’s offensive threats throughout the season. She recorded 10 kills in a five-set match against Cumberland County in August and later shared the team lead with four kills against Upperman.

Swindell and Selby, along with fellow-senior Rhaleigh Cloyd, will leave some experience to replace when they graduate, but Rosell-Diaz’s selection is a good sign for the White County program looking ahead. Having younger players already earning recognition within the district gives the Warriorettes something to build on as the next group begins to take on larger roles.

There was also a familiar name among the district’s coaching awards. Cookeville High School head coach Logan Hicks was named the District 7AAA Coach of the Year. Hicks previously coached at White County before leaving the program following the 2024 season.
