A high school math teacher was arrested after allegations of crimes agains students.
A Van Buren County High School teacher has been indicted and charged in connection with alleged inappropriate conduct involving students, according to Sheriff Michael Brock.
Turner Binkley, a math teacher at the high school, was arrested following an investigation into allegations that he inappropriately touched multiple students. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and involves several students.
A Van Buren County Grand Jury returned an indictment Monday charging Binkley with one count of sexual battery and five counts of offensive touching. Binkley who turned himself in to law enforcement, was later released on a $12,000 bond.
School officials have suspended Binkley from his position pending the outcome of the case. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26 to face the charges.
As with all criminal cases, Binkley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
