Vickie Arlene Hitchcock Roberts, 65

Rock Island resident and Van Buren County native Vickie Arlene Hitchcock Roberts, 65, was born Nov. 3, 1960 and died Dec. 9, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.

A nursery worker, she was the daughter of Liston Gale and Kathleen Hitchcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Lynn.

Ms. Roberts is survived by longtime partner, Steve; children, Cassey (Gary), Chelsea, Zeb (Abby), Brandon and Tyren (Jessi); grandchildren, Lauralye, Mira, Gavin, Rosa and Mercades and sisters, Karen (David) and Ann (Allan).

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Tammie Gribble officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
