Graduation 2025

As the Warren Connect Online Academy Class of 2025 took its first step into a larger world at its graduation ceremony held in the Warren County Middle School Auditorium Thursday, Director of Virtual Learning Dr. Courtney Bennett began the night with a series of quotes from a galaxy far, far away.
"I'm a really big Star Wars nerd. When the first episode was released in 1977, I was in kindergarten," Bennett said. "I was instantly hooked on the adventurous storyline and the life lessons contained in the movie. In 'The Phantom Menace,' Qui-Gon Jinn offered profound insight - 'Your focus determines your reality.' ... Graduates, you will face uncertainty and there will be moments of doubt and failure. But remember the words of Yoda, 'The greatest teacher failure is.' Do not fear mistakes. Embrace them. Learn from them. Let them shape you into the person you are meant to be. You may face moments in your life when things seem impossible. But as Han Solo once said, 'Never tell me the odds.'"
Bennett's address came to a close with one more Star Wars reference.
"Class of 2025, today we celebrate you, your hard work, your growth and the incredible future that awaits each one of you. You are ready, you are unstoppable, and you have the power to shape your destiny. To quote the Mandalorian, 'This is the way.'"
Bennett’s Forceful speech was followed by remarks by Judge Ryan J. Moore, School Commissioner Jarvis Johnson, Representative Paul Sherrell and Director of Schools Dr. Grant Swallows. The 26 attending graduates then walked across the stage to accept their diplomas from Swallows and Bennett.
Warren Connect is Warren County Schools’ virtual school and serves students grades 6-12 through distance and online learning opportunities. The school began in 2021 and has steadily grown.
"This year's class is really special to me as it is our largest graduating class since Warren Connect became an official school," Bennett said. "This year, we have 31 seniors, 26 of whom chose to walk at graduation. We had several students who took Advanced Placement courses or were Dual Enrollment at Motlow or TCAT. One of our seniors this year, Jackson Jones, actually participated in the TCAT graduation in March as he worked to obtain an industry certification while he was finishing his senior year. We also had several high school students who worked part-time jobs at local businesses. We were really fortunate to have such a great group of kids this year and I’m proud of them all."
