Warriorettes close the gap against Livingston

The final score didn’t go White County’s way Thursday night, but head coach Madison Mason saw plenty of reasons to be proud of her Warriorettes.

White County fell 4-0 to Livingston Academy, with the Lady Wildcats scoring twice in each half. But the four-goal loss also showed just how far the Warriorettes have come against a team that handed them a 7-0 loss in last season’s district championship game.

“These girls never gave up,” Mason said. “I am proud of them. That is a very good team we just played.”

Mason also singled out Reagan Fowler, who spent the night competing against her former team.

“She did it with grace and heart,” Mason said.

The loss continued a difficult stretch for White County after the Warriorettes opened the season with three straight wins. They have now dropped five consecutive games, falling to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in district play.

There is still plenty of soccer left on the schedule. White County has seven regular-season games remaining, including three district matchups.

The Warriorettes will travel to Cumberland County on Tuesday before returning home to host Stone Memorial next Thursday.
