The White County High School softball team’s season may be over, but the postseason honors kept rolling in for the Warriorettes as District 7-AAA coaches announced this year’s all-district and all-tournament selections.

White County was well represented across nearly every category, including one of the district’s top individual awards.

Senior Kylie Norvell was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year after another strong season at the plate for the Warriorettes. Norvell was also selected to the District 7-AAA All-Tournament Team after helping lead White County through another postseason run.

Norvell spent the season giving White County production near the top of the lineup, consistently coming through with big hits and helping spark innings for the Warriorettes throughout district play and the postseason. She compiled a .636 batting average, good enough for eleventh in the state, and an on base percentage of .718.

Senior Addison Howell joined Norvell on the All-Tournament Team. Howell played a key role during White County’s district tournament run, giving the Warriorettes another experienced bat and steady defensive play holding down the hot corner at third base.

Three more Warriorettes earned spots on the All-District Team with Anna McCulley, Addison Norvell, and Callie Phillips all receiving recognition from district coaches.

Each played a major role for a White County team that once again battled through one of the state’s toughest softball districts. McCulley provided consistency throughout the season - both at bat and behind the plate. The sophomore who caught every game for the Warriorettes posted a .960 fielding percentage this season while hitting .435.

Addison Norvell, a freshman, spent the season in the leadoff position for the Warriorettes finishing with a .391 batting average and a .424 on base percentage. Phillips helped anchor the lineup during district competition, as she recorded 23 RBIs - good enough for fourth in the district - on her way to a .373 slugging percentage.

The Warriorettes also picked up one of the district’s top underclassman awards as freshman pitcher Annabelle Burrier was named Freshman of the Year.

Burrier stepped into a major role in the circle this season and continued to improve as the year progressed. Burrier recorded two district wins - good enough for fifth across all District 7-AAA pitchers - while she struck out 38 batters and posting a 4.68 ERA.

White County also had four players selected to the district’s All-Freshman Team: Abbi Hutson, Jordan Wright, AK Wallace, and Blakelynn Cope.

The honors reflect the amount of young talent the Warriorettes placed on the field this season. Several freshmen were in the starting lineup every game while otherse saw meaningful varsity playing time throughout the year, something that could benefit White County moving forward as the program looks toward next season.
