The White County Middle School golf teams wrapped up the regular season the same way they’ve handled most of the spring — with control on both sides of the scorecard.
On Monday afternoon, both the boys and girls teams picked up wins over Warren County, closing out the regular season on a high note. For the Lady Warriors, it also sealed a perfect run.
White County’s girls team finished the year undefeated, capping it with a dominant 74-122 win. Piper Heady once again set the pace, earning low medalist honors with a 36. Ava Elrod followed with a 38, while Rowan Hutson added a 47 and Karsyn West carded a 54. The margin told the story — all four White County scores came in lower than Warren County’s best round of the day, a 61.
The boys team matched that performance with a convincing 158-203 win. Stone Whitson led the way with a round of 35, while Lane Dickerson was close behind at 36. Gaige Evans added a 41, Connor DeLong shot a 46, and both Benji Johnson and Kyson Taylor finished at 47. Henry Farley and Logan Phillips each posted rounds of 48.
Like the girls, the boys controlled the leaderboard. Warren County’s lowest scores were a pair of 47s, with the rest of their lineup finishing in the 50s.
With the regular season complete, the focus now shifts to the postseason. The district tournament tees off Wednesday, where White County will look to continue its strong play — and make a push for a third consecutive trip to the state tournament.
