If the White County Fair was going to go out, it was going to go out loud.
Saturday night brought one more packed midway, one more packed grandstand and plenty of people trying to squeeze in their favorite food, ride or game before the gates closed on another year of the fair.
And then there was the mud.
It was Demolition Derby night, and the action started with some of the smallest drivers on the grounds taking their turn in the Power Wheels derby. From there, the cars got bigger and the hits got harder as the Power Puff, front-wheel drive and V8 divisions took over.
By the end of the night, cars were battered, the track was a muddy mess and the crowd had gotten one last night of the noise and energy that comes with derby night.
After a full week of shows, races, competitions, animals, midway lights and late nights, that was it.
The 2026 White County Fair was in the books.
