White County High School’s JROTC program recently concluded its Company of the Semester competition, an event held throughout the semester that highlights excellence, leadership, and teamwork among Leaders and cadets. The competition challenges each company to consistently demonstrate high standards both inside and outside the JROTC classroom.

Throughout the semester, cadets were evaluated on several key areas, including the timely completion of assigned work, overall GPA, discipline, motivation of others, and commitment to the Army Values. Judges also considered cadets’ behavior in and out of JROTC activities, as well as their ability to work together and build strong teams. These criteria emphasized not only academic and military performance, but also character and citizenship.

At the conclusion of the first semester, Bravo Company earned the title of Company of the Semester. Their success reflected dedication, accountability, and a strong sense of unity among the cadets. Under the leadership of Company Commander c/Captain Caden Shockley and First Sergeant Nikkyah Dodson, Bravo Company set a positive example for the entire battalion.

C/Captain Shockley and First Sergeant Dodson played a major role in guiding their company, helping cadets stay motivated and focused on improvement. They also dedicated time to mentoring new cadets, teaching them the importance of responsibility, respect, and teamwork. Their leadership helped shape Bravo Company into a group of cadets who strive to be better students, leaders, and citizens.

The Company of the Semester competition continues to be an important tradition within the White County JROTC program, encouraging cadets to uphold high standards and work together toward shared goals. Bravo Company’s achievement stands as a testament to what strong leadership and teamwork can accomplish.
