Commissioners were briefed Monday on major landfill changes projected to deliver close to $400,000 in annual host fees for White County.
White County is expected to receive roughly $400,000 per year in host fees following the opening of a new landfill cell and the addition of multiple regional waste contracts, according to an update delivered to county commissioners Monday.
Tom Brandon, a representative for Waste Management, briefed commissioners on current operations, reporting that a newly constructed cell opened recently and is already receiving daily volume from the city of Sparta. Brandon said a contract secured with DeKalb County in July will soon transition to the site, along with waste hauled from a transfer station in Cumberland County.
