The White County Middle School basketball teams had a rough outing on Monday night but are looking to right all of that as they host Harris in their last home game of the season on Thursday.
The boys’ team kept things close throughout the first half of Monday’s game against Upperman. The Warriors trailed by three at the end of one but evened the score at 20 apiece by halftime. White County found themselves trailing again, this time by just two, at the end of the third quarter, but a strong final push by the Bees saw the Warriors fall 39-45.
Connor Delong and Tate Pinion were the big scorers for White County, dropping 13 points each thanks to some sharp shooting from beyond the arc. Kyson Taylor dropped a pair of threes for six points in the fourth quarter while Carson Delong added four points and Brayden Cope rounded out the scoring with three points.

For the Warriorettes, there wasn’t much scoring. Ava Elrod scored five and Lyla Ryan had three as White County fell hard by a score of 68-18.
The loss for the girls came on the heels of a much bigger win the week before as the Warriorettes pushed their way past Warren County Middle School, 44-22. During that game, it was Ava Elrod leading the way with 20 points while Ayla Young added eight.

Both White County teams will try to get back in the win column on Thursday when they host Harris. The game will also serve as 8th Grade Recognition Night with players, cheerleaders, and managers being recognized at 5:45 with tipoff of the girls' game scheduled for 6pm.
