White County Middle School’s boys soccer team ran into a tough matchup, falling 3-0 to Avery Trace after spending much of the night on the defensive side of the field.

The Warriors opened the game with solid energy, but that early momentum didn’t last long. Avery Trace quickly flipped the field and kept White County pinned deep in its own half for most of the contest, limiting opportunities to build any sustained attack.

Avery Trace broke through in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead and forcing the Warriors to regroup at the break. White County attempted to make adjustments coming out of halftime, but another setback came just six minutes into the second half when a penalty was awarded. Avery Trace converted the opportunity to stretch the lead to 2-0.

From there, the pressure continued. Avery Trace added a third goal later in the half, capitalizing on a night where White County struggled to win loose balls and maintain possession.

Despite the final score, goalkeeper Logan Allen turned in a strong performance between the posts, making saves that kept the game from getting further out of reach.

White County will look to bounce back, returning to the field Friday, April 10, on the road at Warren County.
