Just a few days after a blowout loss to the Upperman Bees, the White County Warriors met their same fate against the Stone Memorial Panthers on Tuesday night.
SMHS took the lead in the first quarter and never lost it. the Warriors were able to rally in the third quarter thanks to back-to-back three pointers from Tucker Pinion to cut the lead to 10, however first year Stone Memorial coach Jess Raby called a timeout to slow down Sparta's momentum which worked as the Panthers would extend their 10 point lead to 19.
Stone Memorial would go on to cruise to a 70-47 over White County. The Warriors fall to 12-4 on the year, having lost three out of their last four games. More importantly White County stays winless in district play, dropping to 0-2.
Leading scoring for Sparta would be Cole Sims and Tucker Pinion scoring 17 and 13 points, respectively. While Stone Memorial's Jack Cordell had the most points of anyone knocking down 20 points.
White County will have another chance at home to pick up their first district win as they host Stone Memorial's cross-town rivals in the Cumberland County Jets later this week.
