With storms washing out Friday night’s slate of games, teams in the White County Youth Baseball and Softball League will head into the final week of the regular season coming off an important round of Thursday matchups that helped shape several divisional races before tournament play begins.

In Minor Boys action, Ben Dildine Tru-North continued its dominant season with a 7-4 win over Nate Card Construction. Tru-North stretched its winning streak to nine games, remaining undefeated, while maintaining a comfortable three game lead atop the standings entering the final week of play.

Turney Financial also strengthened its postseason positioning Thursday night with a 7-2 victory over Home Church. The win moved Turney Financial to 4-2 on the year and kept the team mathematically in the hunt for the top seed.

In Major Boys play, Spar Gas picked up an 11-5 win over Ben Lomand to stay within striking distance near the top of the standings. Spar Gas improved to 4-3 to stay one game out of second and just two games out of the division's top spot.

Whitson Lawn Care continued to separate itself from the field with a 9-3 win over Toro Nutrition. The victory pushed Whitson to 5-0 on the season and kept the team unbeaten entering the final week of regular-season action.

Thursday’s Major Boys games also produced another member of the league’s growing “Bomb Squad” as Mason Hall blasted a home run over the outfield fence for Whitson Lawn Care.

In Minor Girls action, Tennessee Septic continued its strong push toward the postseason with a 6-1 victory over Edd Rogers Valley Ford. Tennessee Septic improved to 6-2 and stayed within reach of first place entering the final stretch of the season.

Reco also continued its recent surge with a 10-0 shutout win over Uzin Fusion Metalworks. The victory marked Reco’s second straight win and kept the team tied near the top of a tightly contested division race.

Major Girls action saw BCX Lazer Printing earn a 12-3 victory over Premier Collision. BCX improved to 6-2 and remained in second place behind unbeaten Carl Killer Brewing Co.

Robbie Porter also picked up a key win Thursday night, defeating Rocky Pop Co. 14-9. The two entered the night tied for third, and Robbie Porter's win separated the two as they enter the final week of play.

Due to inclement weather, Friday’s games were canceled. League officials said they will work with coaches to reschedule those matchups, though no makeup dates or times have been announced.

The final week of regular-season play begins Monday before teams shift their focus toward postseason tournament action.
