Saturday’s YMCA Youth Soccer tournament brought the spring season to a close with a full day of action on the fields in Sparta, as younger divisions wrapped up their final games while older teams battled through tournament brackets for championship medals.
Throughout the morning and afternoon, fields were packed with players, parents, and coaches as teams from multiple age groups took part in the season-ending event. The youngest divisions focused more on fun and final opportunities to play together, with plenty of smiles, high-fives, and excited celebrations spread across the complex.
In the older divisions, however, the intensity picked up as teams entered single-elimination tournament play with championship spots on the line.

In one bracket, Stone’s Throw Family Farm captured the tournament title after a 2-1 win over White County Co-Op in the championship match. Stone’s Throw opened bracket play with a 3-1 victory over Plateau Transportation before edging into the finals. White County Co-Op reached the title game after defeating Duke’s Excavation and then shutting out Cloyd’s Fencing in the semifinal round.

On the other side of the tournament action, Robbie Porter Realty claimed a championship after defeating Turney Financial 5-0 in the final. Robbie Porter Realty advanced with wins over Foothills Inspections and Pro Air Medical, while Turney Financial earned its spot in the championship by knocking off Cherry Creek Electric after Cherry Creek had opened tournament play with a win over Weston Brothers HVAC.

While medals were handed out in the older divisions, the day as a whole carried the same community atmosphere that has become a staple of YMCA soccer throughout the season. Families lined the sidelines, teammates celebrated one another after goals and saves, and players closed out another spring season under clear skies at the Sparta soccer fields.
