McMinnville Community Calendar
The Main Street Journal's Community Calendar is presented FREE each week by our friends at Lassiter's Towing.
- Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, located at 231 Mullican St, will host a Back-to-School Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 1 at noon. The free community event will feature hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, crafts, games and family-friendly activities as students prepare to head back to school.
- Bonner Church of Christ, located at 1692 Viola Rd, will host a Gospel Meeting Sunday, Aug. 2, through Wednesday, Aug. 5. David Lipe will be the guest speaker. Services will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with evening services Monday through Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
- Smyrna Church of Christ, located at 552 Myers Cove Rd, will host a Gospel Meeting Sunday, Aug. 2, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, featuring guest speaker Don Blackwell. Sunday worship services will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with Bible study at 10 a.m. Evening services Monday through Wednesday begin at 7 p.m. A fellowship meal will follow the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, and everyone is welcome to attend.
- McMinnville Electric System and the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a Blood Assurance community blood drive on Monday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McMinnville Electric System, 206 W Main St. Donors are encouraged to eat a good meal, drink plenty of water, avoid energy drinks and bring a photo ID. All donors will receive a $25 gift card.
- The County Corrections Partnership committee meeting will take place at the Warren County Sheriff's Office on 108 Security Circle on Monday, Aug. 3 at 3:15 p.m.
- The Safety and Beer Board committee meeting will take place at the Warren County Administrative Building at 201 Locust St on Monday, Aug. 3 at 4:30 p.m.
- The Warren County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St.
- The Economic and Agriculture committee meeting will take place at the Spec building on 601 Progress Blvd on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 5:00 p.m.
- The Policy and Personnel committee meeting will take place at the Warren County Administrative Building at 201 Locust St on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 5:00 p.m.
- The Health and Welfare committee meeting will take place at the Warren County Administrative Building at 201 Locust St on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 6:00 p.m.
- The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for TechHelp Solutions & Data LLC on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at Three Star Mall, Suite 12 (the former GNC location), 1410 Sparta St, and is open to the public.
- The Warren County Health Department will host a free Community Baby Shower on Friday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Three Star Mall, 1410 Sparta St. The event is open to expectant mothers, new mothers and their families.
- Center Hill Cemetery will host its annual fundraising weekend Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8. A benefit dinner will be held Friday from 4-9 p.m., featuring a choice of chicken or hamburger steak. The annual picnic follows Saturday with the annual meeting beginning at 10 a.m., concessions opening at 10:30 a.m. and a live auction at 6 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy raffle prizes, food and family-friendly activities throughout the day. The events help support the maintenance and preservation of Center Hill Cemetery, and the public is invited to attend.
- The Tennessee Wildman Con: A Cryptid Convention will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Milner Recreation Center on 500 Garfield St. The event will feature guest speakers, investigators and authors discussing Bigfoot, Dogman, UFOs and other paranormal topics. Attendees can browse vendors, artwork, collectibles and merchandise while hearing firsthand accounts and presentations from featured researchers.
- Residents are invited to safely dispose of personal documents during First Shred Day 2026 on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the new Morrison branch on 9015 Manchester Hwy. The event is free and open to the public.
- McMinnville Independent Baptist Church, located at 610 Myers Ln, will host southern gospel group Living Truth on Sunday, Aug. 9 at the 10 a.m. worship service. Revival services will continue Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 10-12, at 7 p.m. nightly with evangelist Brother Bobby McGillard. The public is invited to attend all services.
- Registration is underway for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League and will continue through Aug. 9 at the Milner Recreation Center. The league fee is $80 per player, and all participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. - The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will meet Saturday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Early Voting Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St in McMinnville. Rock Island Forest Ranger Josh Welch will present a program on the Great Falls Cotton Mill at Rock Island. Visitors are welcome to attend.
- Registration is underway for the Warren County Church League 2026 fall softball season. The registration deadline is Thursday, Aug. 20, and late entries will not be accepted. Registration paperwork is available at the front desk of Milner Recreation Center or can be requested by email through Rachael Wamsley at rwamsley82@gmail.com. Teams must submit all required paperwork by the deadline to participate in the fall season.
- The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Colwell Law, PLLC on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at the firm's office, 206 N Chancery St. Community members are invited to attend and help welcome the business.
- The Warren County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Early Voting Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St.
- The Warren County Master Gardeners' Association will meet Thursday, Aug. 20, from 6-8 p.m. Summer meetings are held at the Warren County Fairgrounds, while meetings during the remainder of the year are held in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building, 201 Locust St. Anyone who has completed the Master Gardener course is eligible to join. - The Warren County Senior High School Class of 1975 will hold its class reunion Saturday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at Helen's on the Green, located at 616 Country Club Dr. The cost is $30 per person and classmates are asked to RSVP by Aug. 1 by emailing Classof1975wctn@gmail.com or by submitting payment through the organizers.
- Main Street McMinnville will host its annual Farm-to-Table Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion on 100 Market St. The event will feature locally grown ingredients prepared by local small businesses, with proceeds supporting the preservation of historic downtown McMinnville. Tickets are available at mainstreetmcminnville.org/farm-to-table/.
- Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market St, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
