John Hill Howitt, 86

Rock Island, TN resident and Gainsborough, England native John Hill Howitt, 86, was born June 9, 1940 and died Sept. 24, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired self-employed maintenance worker, he was the son of the late John Thomas Howitt and Eva Hill Bee Howitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Nicola Lewis, and sister, Mary.

He was married to Patsy Howitt of Rock Island, TN on June 20, 1992. In addition to his wife, Mr. Howitt is survived by stepson, Josh McBride of Rock Island, TN; sister, Jill Cook of Canada and nieces.

Mr. Howitt loved walking his dogs, flower gardening, walking in the woods and listening to music.

Per Mr. Howitt’s wishes, he will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
