In a departure from the norm, Main Street Live was held at Milner Recreation Center Saturday night to coincide with the Freedom Fest Celebration in honor of the Fourth of July.

The free summer concert series presented by Main Street McMinnville temporarily moved from its traditional home at Security Federal’s West Lawn to be held on the lawn between Milner Recreation Center and the Gilley Pool.

Also different this week was the start time for the show, with August Lows getting the party started at 6 p.m. before ceding the stage to fellow local group the Joe Harvey Band at 7 p.m.

The perennial MSL favorites rocked the crowd right up until the fireworks show shortly after 9 p.m. Harvey’s set was immediately preceded by a stirring rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner by Mary Wanamaker.

A crowd estimated by Main Street McMinnville organizers at approximately 3,000 gathered for the patriotic performance as the holiday provided extra excitement at the halfway point of the eight-week 2026 MSL season. An added bonus was the nearby Gilley Pool which remained open until 7 p.m.

“We’ve had a great time and a great turnout,” MSM Executive Director Hannah Cowan Jones said. “It was really fun to see people enjoy the opener from the pool. That was really awesome and August Lows really brought the energy tonight. And everybody loves Joe Harvey. He’s such a favorite. The food trucks have been amazing. Shout out to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen. This has been a wonderful night.”

Main Street Live is broadcast live each week on Star 107.7 FM.

Next week’s Main Street Live returns to Security Federal Savings Bank’s West Lawn for the Battle of the Bands at 7 p.m. Three bands will be vying for the title won in 2025 by Saturday’s opener August Lows.
