Nancy Carolyn Cox, 83

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Nancy Carolyn Cox, 83, was born Dec. 8, 1942 and died April 28, 2026 at her residence following an extended illness.  

A homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Ellie May Anderson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, William Anderson, Claude Anderson, George Anderson, Abby Boren, Nellie May Anderson, Patricia Ann Anderson and Dorothy Anderson.

Mrs. Cox was married May 13, 1960 to Joseph Cox, Sr.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, John Cox of McMinnville;  grandchildren, Braxton Cox, Madison (Cody) Eldridge, Drema Cox, Brent Cox and Justin Cox;  great-grandchildren, Silvia Eldridge, Mia Eldridge and Cadence Eldridge;  sister, Wanda Faye Smith of Gruetli-Laager and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Robin Martin with Zinnia Wellness.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 in High's Chapel with Braxton Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at High's.
