Families looking for a way to celebrate Independence Day weekend will have plenty to enjoy when Freedom Celebration TN returns this summer with an evening packed full of activities, entertainment and one of the area's largest fireworks displays.

The celebration gets underway at 4 p.m., and organizers are encouraging families to come early and make an evening of it. Visitors can browse vendor booths, enjoy food from a variety of vendors, catch live music and spend time with friends and neighbors before the fireworks light up the sky at 9 p.m.

Kids will have a celebration of their own thanks to a large activity area featuring bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and a petting zoo. From the youngest attendees to the young at heart, organizers are working to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening.

There will be plenty to do before the first firework ever leaves the ground, even for those not wanting to shop. Live music from The Singing Believers and Shattered will take the stage throughout the evening, while YERT 92.7 FM broadcasts live from the event with interviews, giveaways and opportunities for attendees to win prizes, including tickets to Soaky Mountain Waterpark.

Then, when the fireworks begin at 9 p.m., the radio station will become part of the show itself. YERT plans to air a soundtrack to accompany the fireworks, allowing listeners to experience the display with synchronized music. Whether you're standing at the celebration grounds or watching from a porch, pasture or hilltop somewhere in the Upper Cumberland, tuning in to 92.7 FM will add another dimension to the night's finale.

While organizers are busy preparing for the event, there is still room for businesses, churches, organizations and vendors who would like to be part of the celebration. Sponsorship opportunities and vendor spaces remain available.

For many families, summer celebrations are about more than fireworks. They are a chance to gather with neighbors, make memories and spend time together. Freedom Celebration TN is once again aiming to provide all of that in one place.
