Candidates set for Sparta Mayor and Aldermen election
The deadline for candidates to file petitions to appear on the Aug. 6 Sparta municipal election ballot passed at noon on Tuesday, March 10.
With the filing window now closed, Sparta voters will see races for mayor and three alderman seats on the ballot this summer.
According to the candidate list released by the White County Election Commission, three individuals filed petitions for the City of Sparta Board of Aldermen, matching the number of available seats.

- Travis McBride
- Robert “Bobby” Officer
City of Sparta Mayor
- Jerry Lowery
Unless additional qualifying issues arise during the verification process, these candidates will appear on the Aug. 6 Sparta municipal ballot.
