During Thursday night's meeting, the Sparta Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a series of personnel actions, including a promotion, several new hires, and the filling of positions left vacant by resignations. The discussion also prompted plans for a citywide compensation study aimed at examining whether current pay scales remain competitive.
