A plan to expand the Sparta-White County Family YMCA is moving forward after the Sparta Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved an amendment to the organization's lease with the city Thursday evening. The decision clears the way for a 3,000-square-foot addition to the existing building, with construction funded through a $1 million state grant.
