White County finished with 15 hits in a 10-5 victory, but it took time for those at-bats to translate into runs. The Warriorettes didn’t break through until the fifth inning, while Upperman had already built a lead behind a steady offensive start.

Upperman struck first in the bottom of the opening inning, using a single, an error and another base hit to plate a run. A pair of additional singles later in the frame pushed a second run across, and the Bees nearly added another before right fielder Annie Burrier cut down a runner at the plate to limit the damage.

After being held scoreless through four innings, White County finally broke through in the fifth. Addison Norvell worked a walk and Kylie Norvell followed with a line drive to right, setting up runners on the corners. Anna McCulley drove a hard ground ball into left to score Addison, and Callie Phillips followed with a single to right that brought Kylie home, tying the game.

The Warriorettes grabbed their first lead in the sixth. With two outs, Abbi Hutson doubled and Addison Norvell delivered with a triple to put White County in front. Norvell later scored on a wild pitch, stretching the lead to 4-2.

Upperman answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning. A combination of a single, an error and another hit tied the game, and another base knock pushed the Bees back in front, 5-4, heading into the seventh.

That set the stage for White County’s biggest inning of the night.

Callie Phillips reached on an error to start the frame, and Addison Howell followed with a deep drive to right for a double. A sacrifice fly from Annie Burrier allowed courtesy runner Treeah Powell to score and tie the game. Jordan Eight then delivered an RBI single, and Miah Jo Swindell added a line drive to center to keep the inning alive.

With the bases loaded, Addison Norvell reached on an infield single before Kylie Norvell broke things open with a hard ground ball into right field that cleared the bases. McCulley added another run with a line drive to center, capping a six-run inning that gave White County a 10-5 lead.

Upperman threatened to respond in the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff single, but the Warriorettes shut the door quickly. A throw from center field by Addison Norvell erased a runner trying to advance, and a 5-3-6 double play ended the game.

Mabry Taylor went the distance in the circle, allowing just one earned run on 10 hits while working all seven innings.
