Warriors crack top 10 at Burnett Invitational

The White County High School boys cross country team continued to make strides Saturday, finishing eighth at the Burnett Invitational in Cookeville.

Freshman Kolt Pryor once again led the Warriors, completing the 5K course in 21:29.06 and finishing among the top 50 in a field of 137 high school boys. Pryor had run a 20:57.67 the previous week at the John Freeman Invitational, where he finished 54th.

Isaac Williams was the second Warrior across the finish line Saturday, turning in a time of 22:11.36.

Logan Allen and George Meece both broke the 25-minute mark, while William Martinez wasn't far behind at 25:22.76. White County placed four runners among the top 85 in the field on the way to its eighth-place team finish.

Lincoln Kugler, Michael Smith, Aaron Mast, and Tyler Hernandez also competed for White County. With the program still working to rebuild its numbers, each meet gives the Warriors more race experience and another chance to get their newer runners accustomed to competing at the high school level.
