Championship dreams are still alive across the White County Youth Baseball and Softball League, but the margin for error is getting smaller by the day.

Tournament play continued Tuesday night after wet field conditions forced Monday's schedule to be pushed back a day, and several divisions are already down to their final four teams. Others have championship game spots on the line as a busy stretch of baseball and softball unfolds through the rest of the week. With favorable weather expected the remainder of the week, league officials appear on track to make up the lost ground and keep the postseason moving toward its championship rounds.

However, Tuesday's semifinal action delivered a shakeup. Three Rivers, which entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed, knocked off regular-season champion Price Sluggers 6-5 in a tightly contested game to punch its ticket to Thursday's championship game. The other semifinal matchup will determine who joins Three Rivers in the title contest.

The Minor Boys bracket remains wide open entering Wednesday night's semifinals. Fourth-place Turney Financial advanced over fifth-place Koala Insulation during weekend play and now faces regular-season champion Ben Dildine Tru-North. On the opposite side of the bracket, Nate Card Construction moved past Home Church and will take on Meeks Construction for a spot in the championship game.

Major Boys tournament play began Tuesday with higher seeds successfully defending their positions. Fourth-place Spar Gas eliminated fifth-place Roberson Fencing and now faces top-seeded Whitson Lawncare in the semifinals. Third-place Toro Nutrition also advanced with a victory over Ben Lomand and will meet second-place Sonic in what could be one of the most competitive semifinal matchups of the week. Both semifinal games are scheduled for Thursday night.

The Minor Girls division saw its top two seeds continue their strong seasons Tuesday. Franks, which entered tournament play undefeated, handled Edd Rogers Valley Ford to secure a place in Thursday's semifinals. Reco also advanced with a win over Robbie Porter. Their semifinal opponents will be determined Wednesday night when Powerhouse Powerwash faces YERT Nutrition and Tennessee Septic takes on Uzin Fusion Metalworks.

In Major Girls action, Tuesday's quarterfinals narrowed the field to four teams. Premier Collision advanced past Rocky Pop Co and earned a semifinal showdown Wednesday night against regular-season champion Calfkiller Brewing Company. Robbie Porter also moved on by defeating MMG Truck & Trailer Repair and will face second-seeded team in the division's other semifinal matchup.

After a week that included rain delays and schedule changes, the forecast finally appears to be on the league's side. That means plenty of baseball and softball over the next few days, with championship games looming and several divisions getting closer to crowning tournament winners.
