White County High School’s golf teams were back on the links Thursday afternoon, and both came away with victories. It marked the second team win of the season for the Warriors and the fourth for the Warriorettes.

The Warriors posted a 301 to best Cumberland County's 319 and Warren County's 394. Leading the way for White County was Logan Holland, who shot a 72, just one stroke behind the Jets' medalist, Liam Fuentes. Lucas Phillips pushed Holland and Fuentes all afternoon, finishing just a stroke behind Holland at 73. Jack Carpenter (76) and Tripp Tollison (80) rounded out White County's scoring. Matthew Wilson's 83 did not count toward the team total, but was lower than all but three scores posted by golfers not wearing Maroon and Gray.

For the Warriorettes, the wins just keep coming. Their 144 was good enough to beat Cumberland County's 170 and Warren County's 177. Sophomore Lenzie Golden found herself back in the medalist spot, carding a two-under par 70. Freshman Ava Elrod continued to show the jump to the high school game hasn't slowed her down, finishing second overall with a 74. Another freshman, Piper Heady, recorded the fourth-best score of the afternoon with an 80, finishing just behind Cumberland County's Kinsky Wilson, who shot a 78.

Riley Hudson (90) and Rowan Hudson (108) also competed for the Warriorettes, though their scores did not factor into the team total.

Next up for the White County golf teams is the Early Bird Tournament. Both teams will tee off at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Cookeville.
