Senior Night had everything it should for the White County High School tennis program Thursday evening — recognition, milestones, and a match that carried some weight — before weather ultimately cut things short against Stone Memorial.
The program honored four seniors who have helped steady the lineup over the past several seasons, and by the end of the evening, three names had added themselves to one of the program’s most exclusive lists.

Lorelei Bouldin and John Durfee have been fixtures at the top of the lineup for four years, both holding down the No. 1 spot and producing at a consistent clip. Bouldin closed the night with a 52-30 career record, while Durfee followed closely at 51-29 — both hovering around a 63% win rate. Ben Brogden, despite just two years at the varsity level, has made his presence felt with a 31-8 record and a 79% win rate, primarily working out of the No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles spots. Jett Drouillard, a steady presence across four seasons, wrapped up his time with a 16-11 record while contributing wherever needed in the lineup.
“These guys have stayed committed to what we ask of them — the work, the standard, and the way we compete,” head coach Topher Wiles said. “That’s what makes nights like this mean something.”
That meaning carried over into another milestone as Bouldin and Durfee officially crossed into the program’s “50 Win Club,” a mark that typically takes four years of consistency to reach. They weren’t alone. Junior Ethan Wiles added his name to the list as well, becoming the first underclassman to do it. Wiles now sits at 54 career wins and has built that total at an 81% clip through three seasons.

On the court, the Warriors were well on their way to another district win before lightning stopped play. White County had already secured the five wins needed for the team result and held a 7-0 lead at the time of the delay. Rhoane Whorton turned in the most decisive finish of the night with an 8-1 win, while Brogden was closing in on a shutout before play was halted.
The Warriorettes were in a tighter spot when the weather moved in, sitting tied 2-2 in matches. Doubles play provided the early push with wins from Tegan Rittenberry and Olivia Flaminio, along with Ainslee Goff and Kaitlyn Howard. Sadie Benningfield had just started to build momentum in singles play with an early lead before the stoppage, and with multiple matches still in progress, the outcome never had a chance to fully take shape.
Before the lightning, the junior varsity group added to the night with a pair of dominant performances. Emmie Benningfield and Claire Hawkins posted an 8-0 win, while Victoria Davis and Avi Rose followed with a 6-1 showing.
White County nwill be on the road Tuesday as they take on Cumberland County, with junior varsity set to wrap its regular season the following day in a district make-up against Sequatchie County.
