Day three of the White County Youth Baseball and Softball League had a little bit of everything—close games, late runs, and just enough movement in the standings to start seeing where teams are settling in.
COMPETITIVE T-BALL
In Competitive T-Ball, it was a night of tight finishes. Doyle Church of the Nazarene kept its unbeaten start alive, but it didn’t come easy, slipping past Whites Disposal 14-13 in one of the closest games we’ve seen so far. That win keeps them right at the top early on. Tennessee Site Prep picked up a 12-10 win over Jaxito Burrito in another back-and-forth game, while Parker Metal Supply added a 10-6 win against Randy Wallace Insurance. There’s a handful of teams sitting right around the middle of the standings, and it’s already clear this group is going to be competitive just about every night.

COACH PITCH BOYS
In Coach Pitch Boys, Thursday’s games added a little more movement near the top of the standings. Thompson Construction kept its strong start going with a 13-12 win over Piney Creek Lumber, holding on in a game that stayed tight the entire way. National Guard also picked up a win, knocking off Three Rivers 11-9 in another competitive matchup. With Thompson Construction still unbeaten and a couple of teams right behind them, this division is already shaping up to have a tight race near the top with very little room for error week to week.

MINOR GIRLS
Over in Minor Girls, the games stayed just as close. Resco held onto its unbeaten start with an 8-7 win over Tennessee Septic, showing they can finish games when it gets tight late. Yert Nutrition kept pace with a 9-5 win over Edd Rogers Valley Ford, keeping themselves right there near the top as well. With a couple of one-run games already in the books, there’s not much separating teams at this point, and that’s starting to show on the field.

MINOR BOYS
Thursday marked the first night of action for the Minor Boys Live Arm division, and a couple of teams got off to strong starts right out of the gate. Meeks Construction put together a solid opening performance in an 11-3 win over Koala Insulation, handling things well on both sides of the ball. Ben Dildine Tru-North also started the season with a win, beating Home Church 10-7 in a game that stayed tight most of the way. It’s just one night in, but if these first games are any indication, this group should be competitive as teams settle in.

Three days in, you can start to see things coming together. There are still a lot of games left, but the close scores, the undefeated starts, and the way teams are competing every inning—it’s all pointing toward a season where just about every night is going to matter.
