White County High School's volleyball team gave its home crowd plenty to cheer about Thursday night, bouncing back from a season-opening loss with a four-set victory over Smyrna on Senior Night.
After falling to Stewarts Creek in straight sets on Tuesday, the Warriorettes responded with a strong performance to defeat the Bulldogs 25-18, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-12.
White County came out with energy in the opening set before Smyrna evened the match by taking the second. Rather than letting momentum slip away, the Warriorettes answered by controlling the final two sets, pulling away late in the third before putting together their most complete effort of the night in the decisive fourth.

White County's offense featured contributions from throughout the lineup. Alli Beth Stebing led the way with 10 kills, while Madison Henry and Lainie Naaktgeboren added six apiece. Senior Ashlyn Selby finished with four kills, six digs and an ace, and senior Rhaleigh Cloyd recorded two kills and five digs.

The Swindells also filled the stat sheet. Senior Miah Jo Swindell totaled 16 assists, four aces and a kill, while Mallori Swindell matched her with 16 assists and added seven kills and two aces. Kaylin Cunningham chipped in nine digs and two aces as the Warriorettes closed out the match with convincing wins in the final two sets.

The Warriorettes will look to build on the momentum Monday when they return to the home court and host Cumberland County before traveling to Wilson Central on Tuesday.
