McMinnville Community Calendar
The Main Street Journal's Community Calendar is presented FREE each Friday by our friends at Lassiter's Towing.
- Registration is underway for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League and will continue through Aug. 9 at the Milner Recreation Center. The league fee is $80 per player, and all participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. - Registration is open for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Fall 2026 season through July 19. Late registration will be available July 20-26. The registration fee is $70 per child, with additional children in the same family discounted to $65 each. The league offers divisions ranging from U3/U4 through U15-U18. Age groups are determined by birth year, and players must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 29 to participate. Registration information is available through McMinnville Parks and Recreation and McMinnville Youth Soccer.
- First United Methodist Church will host its annual Big Yard Sale on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The sale will be held in the church’s Outreach Building, located at 200 W Main St. Shoppers can browse a wide variety of items while supporting the church’s outreach ministries and community service efforts.
- Kids of the Community will host its 13th annual Paddlefest on Saturday, June 20, at 681 Cadillac Lane in McMinnville. The annual kayak race and float serves as a fundraiser supporting the organization's youth programs throughout the year. Proceeds help fund tutoring, computer classes, cooking classes, art programs, community service projects and outdoor activities for local children. - The Warren Masonic Lodge will hold its annual pancake, sausage and fruit breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the lodge, located at 308 E Main St. Tickets are $10 each and include an all-you-can-eat breakfast with a drink. Proceeds will benefit charitable causes including the Widows and Orphans Fund, Shriners, Special Games, local scholarships and other programs serving children and families in need.
- The Van Buren Chamber of Commerce will kick off its 2026 Farmers Market season on Saturday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to noon at 500 College St in Spencer. Visitors can shop for fresh produce, baked goods, handmade items and other locally produced products while supporting area farmers and vendors. Door prizes will also be offered throughout the event. Vendor spaces are available for a $5 fee. For more information, call 931-510-2430.
- EAA Chapter 1700 will host its Fly/Drive/Bike/Walk/Crawl Rain or Shine Breakfast on Saturday, June 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Warren County Memorial Airport, located at 48 W. Airport Rd. in McMinnville. The breakfast menu will include pancakes (with a blueberry option), eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, along with coffee, juice and water. Pilots, aviation enthusiasts, EAA members and the general public are invited to attend, enjoy breakfast and view aircraft on display. Donations will be accepted to support the chapter’s activities.
- The Warren County Democratic Party will host "Dems & Doughnuts" on Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at J’s Restaurant, located in Three-Star Mall at 1410 Sparta St. The event will serve as an informal breakfast gathering for Democrats and community members interested in meeting and visiting with others in a relaxed setting.
- Young Men United will host its Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Warren County Fairgrounds, located at 194 Fairgrounds Rd. The event will feature live entertainment, family activities, children’s games, food, a car show and a beauty pageant throughout the day.
- Morrison Church of Christ will host a community meal on Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at its location on 201 S Main St. Organizers will serve hamburgers and hot dogs, and everyone is invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
- The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will meet on Saturday, June 20 at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. This month’s program will feature Lucas Holt, who will present information on Wilfer Leon Green, a soldier who served during the Vietnam War. Holt is a dedicated historical researcher and will share insights and research surrounding Green and related historical events. Visitors are welcome to attend.
- Gath Baptist Church will host its “Junkyard Redemption” Vacation Bible School from Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, from 5:30-8 p.m. each evening. The program is open to children ages 2-12 and will feature interactive Bible lessons, activities and fellowship. Meals, including items such as hot dogs and pizza, will be provided nightly. Parents may preregister by calling 931-934-2655, or children may register at the event.
- Cornerstone Baptist Church will host its 2026 Vacation Bible School, “Illumination Station,” from Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening. The program is open to children from Pre-K through sixth grade and will be held at the church, located at 49 Golf Club Rd. in McMinnville. Dinner and rides will be provided for participants.
- The Warren County Commission full court meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 in the Locust Room of the Warren County Administrative Building on 201 Locust St.
- 2026 Summer Tennis Camps will be held at the Milner Recreation Center/David Dunlap Tennis Complex in McMinnville on June 22–25 and July 27–30. Camps are open to ages 6–15 with sessions in the morning; cost is $100. Participants can call 931-273-3435 for details.
- Applications for the 2026 Farmers Market Senior Nutrition Program will be accepted Tuesday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Warren County Farmers’ Market. The application process will be drive-thru only, and no appointment is necessary. The program provides $40 in vouchers for use on fresh produce at the Warren County Farmers’ Market between July 1 and Sept. 15, 2026. Applicants must be Warren County residents, age 60 or older and meet income guidelines. Participants should bring proof of residency, identification and income documentation. - The Building and Grounds Committee meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22 in the Locust Room of the Warren County Administrative Building on 201 Locust St.
- A motorcycle benefit ride supporting Tabitha Denney, who is battling a cardiac condition, will be held Saturday, June 27. Registration is $10 per rider, and kickstands are scheduled to go up at 10 a.m. from Three Star Mall at 1410 Sparta St. The event will include a scenic ride, raffles, a silent auction and additional entertainment. Automobiles are also welcome to participate. All proceeds will go toward Denney’s medical expenses.
- A live auction and taco salad fundraiser benefiting Bentley Moore will be held Saturday, June 27, at Burritt College, located at 427 College St. in Spencer. The meal will begin at 3 p.m. and includes a taco salad, drink and dessert for $10. A live auction and raffle will begin at 5 p.m. Proceeds will help support Bentley’s medical needs as he battles metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare genetic disorder affecting the nervous system.
- The Town of Spencer will hold its Freedom Fest 250 event on Friday, July 3, at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds, located at 288 Spring St. in Spencer. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and will include Splash Fest activities, food vendors and tours of the Heritage Museum. An opening ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m., featuring a concert by Cody McCarver. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
- The McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce and TCAT McMinnville are inviting residents to participate in a Community Time Capsule project celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. Community members may submit photographs, letters and other small items representing life in Warren County today through June 29 at the Chamber office, 110 S Court Square. The official Time Capsule Placement Ceremony will be held July 4 at 11 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce.
- The Warren County Republican Women will host an Ice Cream Social on Thursday, July 9, at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion, located at 100 Market St. in McMinnville. The event is open to the public and offers an opportunity for community members to gather and enjoy an evening of fellowship and refreshments.
- Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
