Rain or shine, Main Street Live's second week of the free concert series will happen Friday night.

Thanks to a partnership with the city-owned Park Theater, which will serve as a backup venue for Friday's concert, Main Street McMinnville organizers can rest assured the show will go on. This week, the show will be Saved by the Music: The Ultimate '90s Experience. Last year's Saved by the Music show was forced into the historic venue by a rainstorm. While organizers hope history will not repeat itself, they are comforted by the option should they be incapable of using MSL's traditional home at Security Federal Savings Bank's West Lawn. They are also excited to have the first week of Main Street Live under their belts and are looking forward to the remainder of the season.

"I'm thrilled with how the first night went," MSM Executive Director Hannah Cowan Jones told the Main Street Journal. "There was some pre-show anxiety when it came to the weather, but the clouds cleared out just in time and gave us a perfect night. Around 1,000 people packed the lawn of Security Federal for our kickoff, and the crowd was a lot of fun. The T.C. Bryant Band has such a loyal hometown following, and they had people out of their seats and dancing right from the jump. They brought the perfect high-energy vibe to set the tone for the rest of the summer.

"We are really looking forward to the energy Saved by the Music: The Ultimate '90s Experience will bring to this Friday's show. We don't have to worry about rain this week. The Park Theater is generously on standby if weather presents an issue. That means the music goes on no matter what, which is really exciting for our whole team."

The eight-concert Main Street Live series will continue with Sydney Adams, June 26; the Joe Harvey Band with opener August Lows (winner of last year's Battle of the Bands) Saturday, July 4 at Milner Recreation Center; Battle of the Bands, July 10; Entice, July 17; Rae Radick, July 24; and Knights of Queen, July 31.

Main Street Live is sponsored by Main Street Media, Security Federal Savings Bank, Bridgestone, McMinnville Electric System, Law Offices of Galligan & Newman, Warren County, City of McMinnville, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District, Hale & Hines Nursery, Citizens Tri-County Bank and Hoover & Son Insurance. Vendors will open at 6 p.m. preceding the 7 p.m. concert.

To keep attendees safe, a portion of the left lane of W. Main St. will be closed to vehicle traffic Friday night. If weather concerns force a move to the Park Theater, that information will be provided to the Main Street Journal by midday Friday. As of noon Wednesday, Accuweather predicted a 55% chance of precipitation Friday morning with the chances of rain dropping to 6% Friday night.
