A high-speed motorcycle pursuit that began on a busy White County roadway and ended across the county line has resulted in charges for a Smithville man, according to court records.

According to an affidavit filed in General Sessions Court, the incident occurred on April 21 when a White County law enforcement officer observed a red and black motorcycle traveling westbound on Smithville Highway at what was described as a “very high rate of speed.” The officer initiated emergency equipment in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver did not comply.
