I am Paul Sherrell, the incumbent Tennessee State Representative for the Forty-third District and a Christian Conservative Republican. I am currently seeking re-election. I hold the distinction of being the first Republican elected to this office. The Forty-third District encompasses Warren and White Counties. I have had the privilege of serving this district since 2016. Since 2018, I have served my fellow Republican Representatives as their elected Majority Floor Leader.

My upbringing occurred on a farm located in Sparta, White County. I am a graduate of White County High School. Additionally, I completed the TREES real estate school and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy. I maintain membership with the Friends of Scott’s Gulf Wilderness State Park, the Tennessee Firearms Association, and the National Rifle Association. My professional background includes experience as a construction worker, heavy equipment operator, Real Estate Agent, Law Enforcement Officer, and owner of an Auto Parts Store.

In my capacity as your State Representative, I have diligently worked to serve the citizens of both this district and the broader state. Active volunteer firefighters and rescue squad personnel in our communities now receive an emergency license plate without charge. Retired law enforcement officers who meet the specified criteria are now afforded the opportunity to obtain a free lifetime enhanced handgun carry permit. I helped to successfully advance

legislation that guarantees continued benefits for the families of Tennessee Park Rangers who lose their lives in the line of duty. I advocated for the protection of Second Amendment Rights for Foster Families, while simultaneously ensuring strict adherence to child safety requirements. I assisted the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association in mandating that criminal courts furnish all requisite court data for the administration of the criminal proceedings notification system, thereby enabling victims and concerned citizens to monitor the status of court cases online.

My current committee assignments include the Population Health Subcommittee, the Health Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Private Acts Committee, the Government Operations Committee (encompassing both House and Joint Committees), and the Joint Commerce, Labor, Transportation and Agriculture Committee.

My aim is to be readily accessible to my constituents who might require support. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the office at 615-741-1963.

As the election season commences, I respectfully request your prayers, support, and vote. Early Voting is scheduled from July 17 through August 1, with Election Day on August 6.
