The deadline for candidates to submit petitions to appear on the Aug. 6 Tennessee State Primary ballot passed at noon on Tuesday, March 10.

With the filing deadline now closed, several races affecting White County voters have taken shape as Republicans and Democrats prepare to select their party nominees ahead of the November general election.

The Aug. 6 election will serve as the state primary for both the Republican and Democratic parties, determining which candidates will advance to the general election in several federal and state-level races.

According to the White County Election Commission’s candidate list, races connected to the 15th District and surrounding state offices include contests for party executive committee seats, the Tennessee House of Representatives, and the Tennessee Senate.

Candidate lists are not considered completely final until after March 17. Until then, candidates have the option of rescinding their petition.

The Tennessee State Primary Election will be held Aug. 6, 2026.
