  • A “Showers to Flowers” fundraising event for the McMinnville Children’s Museum will be held Sunday, April 26 from 1–5 p.m. at the McMinnville Farmers Market Pavilion on 100 Market St. The event will feature STEAM activities, face painting, bounce houses, food trucks, local vendors and more.
  • The third annual Burgers and Brews fundraiser for Area 9 Special Olympics will be held Monday, April 27 at Begonias, giving the community a chance to enjoy a meal, drinks and meet local athletes while supporting the program. Area 9 serves athletes from 13 Upper Cumberland counties who compete in a variety of sports and regularly advance to regional, state and national competitions, including the 2026 USA Games in Twin Cities, Minnesota, where four local athletes will represent Team Tennessee in powerlifting, bocce and pickleball.   • Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
