McMinnville Community Calendar
The Main Street Journal's Community Calendar is presented FREE each week by our friends at Lassiter's Towing.
- Registration is underway for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League and will continue through Aug. 9 at the Milner Recreation Center. The league fee is $80 per player, and all participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. - Registration is open for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Fall 2026 season through July 19. Late registration will be available July 20-26. The registration fee is $70 per child, with additional children in the same family discounted to $65 each. The league offers divisions ranging from U3/U4 through U15-U18. Age groups are determined by birth year, and players must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 29 to participate. Registration information is available through McMinnville Parks and Recreation and McMinnville Youth Soccer.
- The Town of Spencer will hold its Freedom Fest 250 event on Friday, July 3, at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds, located at 288 Spring St. in Spencer. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and will include Splash Fest activities, food vendors and tours of the Heritage Museum. An opening ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m., featuring a concert by Cody McCarver. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
- The Morrison Ruritan Club and City of Morrison will celebrate America's 250th birthday with their annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, at the Morrison Ruritan Ballpark. Activities begin with baby show registration at 2 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 3 p.m. The afternoon and evening will feature kids' games, bingo, a cake walk, a cornhole tournament, live music by Ninth Sun, food concessions from 3-9 p.m., and family-friendly entertainment. The celebration will conclude with a 9 p.m. fireworks show. Admission is free, and the community is invited to enjoy an afternoon and evening of food, music and patriotic fun.
- The 45th Annual Stars & Stripes Fun Run will kick off Main Street McMinnville's USA 250 Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 4. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m., with the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. in downtown McMinnville. The race begins at 100 E. Main St. in downtown McMinnville and welcomes participants of all ages for a patriotic start to Independence Day.
- McMinnville First United Methodist Church will host its annual Pancake Breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, as part of McMinnville's USA 250 celebration. The breakfast is one of the first events of the day and welcomes attendees before the downtown festivities get underway.
- Residents are invited to help choose the winner of Main Street McMinnville's Downtown Window and Window Display Decorating Contest from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 4. Downtown businesses have been decorating their storefronts in red, white and blue in celebration of America's 250th birthday. Voting will take place at the Main Street McMinnville tent on Court Square, with the winning business receiving two tickets to the annual Farm to Table event.
- McMinnville's USA 250 Patriotic Program begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 4, in downtown McMinnville. The ceremony will feature welcome remarks from Mayor Ryle Chastain, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Warren County Executive Terry Bell, the Presentation of Colors and a 21-gun salute by the American Legion, the National Anthem by the Silver and Gold Band, and a patriotic address from Warren County Historian Jimmy Haley.
- The Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville will present its annual Yankee Doodle Parade at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, in downtown McMinnville. The free parade is open to children from birth through fifth grade. Participants are encouraged to decorate wagons, bicycles, scooters, strollers or themselves in patriotic fashion. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., with lineup at 9:15 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in each age group, and group entries are welcome.
- The McMinnville Fire Department will host its annual Watermelon Drop at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, as part of McMinnville's USA 250 Independence Day celebration in downtown McMinnville.
- The Mr. and Miss Stars & Stripes Pageant begins at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Park Theater during McMinnville's USA 250 celebration.
- Main Street McMinnville will host a Time Capsule Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, at the Main Street McMinnville tent on Court Square. The ceremony is part of the community's celebration of Independence Day and the nation's 250th anniversary. Community members may submit photographs, letters and other small items representing life in Warren County today through June 29 at the Chamber office, 110 S Court Square.
- Main Street McMinnville will present its annual Bathtub Races beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, around the Court Square as part of the city's USA 250 Independence Day celebration. Registration and check-in begin at 11 a.m., and participation is free. Contestants must be 18 or older and race a homemade, non-motorized vehicle with four tires, a steering wheel and a rear push bar. Vehicles may be any shape but must display a team name or business logo. Each entry requires one driver and two or three pushers. The event promises a fun and creative competition for participants and spectators alike.
- The City of McMinnville will host its annual fireworks show on Saturday, July 4 at the Milner Recreation Center with fireworks set to start at 9 p.m. The event traditionally features family-friendly activities, entertainment, food vendors before the fireworks display later in the evening. Additional details, including event times and a schedule of activities, are expected to be announced closer to Independence Day.
- The Midway Community Improvement Club will host its annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4, with a full day of family-friendly activities beginning at 11 a.m. The celebration includes a baby show, horseshoe and cornhole tournaments, live music by Zone Status, kids' games, softball games, food concessions, a waterslide for children, awards and a 10 p.m. fireworks show. Concessions will be available throughout the day until 9:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring towels for the waterslide, and no pets are allowed for the safety of all attendees. - Calvary Baptist Church will host an Open House Festival Saturday, July 4, from 3 to 6 p.m. at 610 Myers Lane in McMinnville. The free community event will feature carnival games, bounce houses, cotton candy, snow cones, hot dogs, popcorn and prizes. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
- Calvary Baptist Church will celebrate the grand opening of its new church at 610 Myers Lane Saturday, July 5, in McMinnville. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and an 11 a.m. worship service. A covered-dish dinner and fellowship will follow the service. The public is invited to attend.
- The Safety and Beer Committee Meeting will take place on Monday, July 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Warren County Administration Building on 201 Locust St.
- The Warren County Memorial Airport Meeting will take place on Monday, July 6 at 6 p.m. at 48 Airport Rd.
- The Warren County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, July 6 at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building on 201 Locust St.
- The Warren County Health Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new facility on Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at 1410 Sparta St. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, followed by an open house featuring facility tours, opportunities to meet staff, information about available health services and community partner resources.
- The Warren County Republican Women will host an Ice Cream Social on Thursday, July 9, at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion, located at 100 Market St. in McMinnville. The event is open to the public and offers an opportunity for community members to gather and enjoy an evening of fellowship and refreshments.
- The Warren County Animal Control Health & Welfare Committee Meeting will take place on Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at 169 Paws Trl.
- Families in Crisis will host a Sexual Assault Support Group Thursday, July 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 101 W Main St. The group offers survivors a safe space to receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem, and learn coping skills to empower them on their journey.
- The Warren County Master Gardeners’ Association will meet Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. WCMGA meets the third Thursday of each month, gathering at the fairgrounds during summer months and at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building during the rest of the year. - Rose's Rolling Pin will host a bread-baking workshop on Saturday, July 18, in the Community Room at 110 S. Court Square in McMinnville. Three two-hour sessions will be offered from 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. The cost is $55 with a $20 deposit required to reserve a spot. - The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building, 201 Locust St. The meeting will feature a special salute to America's 250th birthday with a Revolutionary War-themed show-and-tell. Attendees are invited to share information about a Revolutionary War ancestor, wear period clothing or red, white and blue attire, and enjoy refreshments. Visitors are welcome.
- The Viola Fire Department and Viola Homecoming will host a truck and tractor pull Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at 10301 Viola Rd. to benefit the local fire department. MTPA and TPA sanctioned classes will be in action, as well as two unsanctioned classes. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12. Kids 5 and under will be admitted free.
- Vacation Bible School will be held Sunday through Tuesday, July 19-21, at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, 1137 W. Green Hill Rd. in McMinnville. Activities are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. Dinner will be provided, and the community is invited to attend.
- Prayer at the Fountain will be held Thursday, July 23, at 7 p.m. at the fountain in downtown McMinnville. The event will feature worship music led by Destinee and Matthew Dasaro, with a message from Pastor David Kilgore. - Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
